CAROS AMIGOS AND THE AUSTIN CHORO CLUB

Austin's only Brazilian choro band, Caros Amigos ("Dear Friends").   Formed in 2021, Caros Amigos  specializes in the lively, toe-tapping traditional music of Brazil. A “cousin” of samba, choro is mainly an instrumental music featuring upbeat rhythms, lilting melodies, and virtuosic musicianship. Caros Amigos’ song list consists of standards by Brazilian masters as well as originals by the group and their “caros amigos.”Following Caros Amigos' set, will be a unique community-participation musical experience following the traditions of it's native Brazil - a "roda de choro" ("choro circle") - a "choro jam session."
